Following on from our critically acclaimed production of ‘School of Rock’ and ‘We Will Rock You’, Exmouth Youth Theatre, with a cast of nearly 40 local based young performers, are incredibly excited to be performing this Box Office hit both in the West End & Broadway and award-winning movie starring Richard Gere, Renee Zellweger & Catherine Zeta Jones.
Set in the roaring twenties Chicago, nightclub dancer Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap, until he finds out he’s been duped and turns on Roxie. In the Cook County Jail, Roxie meets her hero, another “Merry Murderess” and performer, Velma Kelly. When both acquire the same lawyer, the greedy superstar, Billy Flynn, tensions come to a head as they vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of fame, fortune and acquittal.
This fresh spin of ‘Chicago’ is both entertaining and hilarious and jam-packed with one show-stopping song after another including; ‘All that Jazz’, ‘Razzle Dazzle’, ‘Cell Block Tango’ and ‘Mister Cellophane’.
